New Cycle: A New Moon Plant Medicine Retreat

Enter the quiet embrace of the redwoods in Santa Cruz for a two-day journey of renewal, intention, and inner alignment. Gathering just after the first New Moon of 2027, we enter a powerful threshold between what has been and what is beginning to take form.

In the Andean cosmological understanding, life moves through cycles of death, transformation, and regeneration. Nothing exists in isolation; everything is part of a living relationship between the human being, the Earth, the elements, and the greater cycles of nature. This retreat offers a space to step out of the momentum of the past year, reconnect with your inner center, and consciously begin a new cycle.

Through plant medicine, ceremony, meditation, embodiment, and time in nature, we turn inward to recognize what is ready to be released and what is asking to be cultivated. Rather than forcing a new beginning, we learn to listen to the deeper movement of life and allow the next chapter to emerge from within.

Why the New Moon?

The New Moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle. Its darkness represents a moment of return to the unseen, the fertile space before something has taken form. It is a natural time for introspection, purification, intention, and renewal.

Returning to the Inner World:

Without the light of the Moon, our attention naturally turns inward. This creates an opportunity to become still, listen deeply, and recognize patterns, attachments, and stories that are ready to be transformed.

Planting the Seed:

The New Moon is associated with the beginning of a new cycle. Like a seed placed beneath the soil, an intention does not need to be immediately visible to be alive. The work is to identify what we are truly ready to cultivate and give it the conditions to grow.

Crossing the Threshold:

The days following the New Moon represent the first movement toward illumination. This retreat takes place within that transition, inviting us to move from inner darkness toward clarity, from reflection toward conscious action, and from completion toward new possibility.
