“The power of meditation and reflection after ceremonies”

Today in the Hampeq online class, we had a powerful meditation “vow” ceremony, where Andres took us deep and we were able to connect to the medicines. As a Hampeq myself, I know the powers of meditation and reflection, however, today during the meditation, I was able to have a conversation with each of the medicines individually. In a deep state I was able to feel the presence of each medicine, have a conversation, hear it’s voice, tell it how it has changed my life for the better, and in that process, I realized some major things that these medicines have given me!

These are the benefits of meditation because in a 3-D world, I knew how they had changed my life, but I had never personally in one experience, had a one on one and spent time in a conversation with grateful clarity, giving each medicine kawsay (existence), giving it time to talk to me , thanking it , giving it gratitude for how it specifically healed me.

For example, Kambo was the start of everything for me and it gave me back my life!

Thirteen years plagued by the devastation of Lyme disease, mostly dissolving the physical symptoms in one months time... Enough to go off all western meds forever!

Without it, I wouldn’t be alive today!

I am always in gratitude for these medicines, but I think it’s important to take the time to really have a deep meaningful conversation with them.

Ayahuasca has given me back my peace, given me clarity for my life path , my “through”, and constantly shows me more with the passing of time .

Ninos Santos has connected me to my writers voice which has been a wonderful gift.

With Hapé, I’ve reconnected with a medicine that feels deeply familiar, almost as though I’ve worked with it for hundreds of years. When I sit with it intentionally, it helps me ground, quiet the mental noise, and reconnect with a clearer state of mind. I don’t see it as something I depend on, but as a powerful tool that can remind me how to return to that centered place within myself. That kind of clarity and reconnection is deeply valuable to me.

San Pedro has helped me connect more deeply with my masculine side. I grew up without a father, so I didn’t really have that masculine influence or example in my life. As a woman, I’ve sometimes struggled to understand how to balance my feminine and masculine qualities without feeling like I had to live too strongly in one or the other. My experiences with San Pedro have helped me explore that balance and develop a stronger relationship with that part of myself.

More recently, during a particularly deep San Pedro experience, something completely unexpected happened. I had lost much of my sense of smell after COVID, and in the middle of the experience, I suddenly realized I could smell again. I can’t say with certainty what caused the change, but the timing was remarkable, and my sense of smell has remained with me since. It has felt like an incredible gift.

As a Hampeq, meditation and reflection have deepened my ability to serve with greater clarity, conviction, and integrity. This path has taught me that true service begins within, with the willingness to know myself, to remain grounded in truth, and to walk with humility.

The medicines have profoundly transformed my life, not by giving me something outside of myself, but by helping me remember, uncover, and embody what was already within me. Through that transformation, I have become more capable of standing beside others with presence, compassion, and purpose.

I carry immense gratitude for everything this path has taught me and for the responsibility that comes with it. I continue forward not simply because of what I have received, but because of what I am now able to give.

For me, this is the heart of being a Hampeq: to walk the path with integrity, to honor the medicines through the life I live, and to allow my own healing to become a deeper capacity to serve others. Noccan Kani Hampeq Anne Catherine Bourne
